Millions of people will receive a smartwatch from the NHS to monitor their health in a move announced by the government. Health Secretary Wes Streeting announced the 10-year plan last month.
The decade-long rollout will see the NHS hand out smartwatches to people in a bid to tackle debilitating conditions like heart disease and diabetes, as highlighted by The Independent. And as Amazon launched it's recent Black Friday offers we spotted many fitness tracking devices at the top of the sale.
The handy fitness tracking devices record every movement you make and even allow you to call your friends if you leave your phone at home, and keep an eye on the all important health and fitness stats too. Below, you'll find some of the smartwatches available as part of Amazon's Black Friday sale, reports MyLondon.

Smartwatch shoppers 'bought to replace Fitbit' at cheaper price
A few months ago, the Kuizil Smart Watch and Fitness tracker caught our attention (and that of shoppers') as a cost-effective alternative for those who can't justify purchasing an Apple, Google or Samsung Galaxy model. We reported that keen Amazon shoppers were buying this model to 'replace their Fitbits' due to its affordable £23 price - and now it's dropped to £17.99. A £7 discount on an already budget-friendly option could persuade shoppers to give it a go before splashing out on a more expensive model.
This is what shoppers had to say, as Jake Hackney previously reported. Jake wrote: "The smartwatch has been a hit with shoppers, earning a 4.3 out of 4,448 ratings. Of those, 3,158 are five star and 489 are four star. One thrilled customer raved about their purchase: "Wow. What a pleasant surprise. A watch that has and does everything that an Apple Watch has and does, and then some, for a fraction of the cost."
Not all customers were happy, with one saying: "It's okay, but there's better" before adding "sleep tracking isn't reliable, saying it's ok for a first buy."
Apple Watches available for less
The Apple Watch Series 9 tops the Black Friday list as it's reduced from £349 to £290 - a saving that'll get you last year's flagship model for less. Then there's the flashy 2024 model - the Apple Watch Series 10 - which can also be found for less. Although the saving isn't anywhere near as much as the older Series 9 discounts.
The GPS sports band models have a £20 discount, down to £409, while the coveted cellular plus GPS Watch Series 10 models (so you can ditch wi-fi and still stay connected) are now £509, instead of £529. If you're not an iPhone user, you'll want to steer clear of the AppleWatch discounts, as it simply won't perform well with other mobiles.
Google's new Pixel Watch3 get a price cut
Next up and rival tech giant Google is also featuring heavily in the deals section, with multiple models reduced on the Prime retailer's site. You do have to dig deeper for these discounts as they aren't on the homepage - which is why we've highlighted them for you. Starting with the larger size (45mm) of its flagship Pixel Watch 3 - now a whopping £70 cheaper. Was £399, now £329.
Next in line, the slightly smaller 41mm Pixel Watch 3 is also on sale - this will better suit those with smaller wrists. This model has now been reduced by £70, down to £279 - considering it's Google's 2024 model, it's quite rare to see a flagship model for less than £300, especially when comparing the big three - Apple, Google, and Samsung.
It wouldn't be a fitness tracker roundup without Fitbit
Fitbit, is also included in Amazon's Black Friday sale. The Fitbit Charge 6 is now 29% cheaper, with a new price tag of £99, and this comes with six months free membership. The Fitbit Inspire 3 is another relatively affordable option - now less than £60, it's £58.99 in the sale.
Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra is £100 off in sale
The Galaxy Watch Ultra model has been reduced by £100 in the Amazon sale. The 47mm titanium-designed model is now £499 instead of the usual £599 - albeit that's still a hefty price to pay, and it's matched over at the Samsung Store too. The watch does come with impressive features, as one would expect, and its 70% five-star Amazon rating reflects that. Equipped with Galaxy AI, it provides quick, personalised health updates to users at near lightning speeds.
Next is Samsung's super affordable Galaxy Fit3. Priced at £44.95, this watch has been designed to keep costs low, features simple, and primarily aims to deliver fitness updates.
The Galaxy Watch FE is also on sale, reduced from an original £169.99 to £153.99 - not a huge discount compared to the rest. As mentioned above, the Samsung Store is also live with Black Friday offers on its site. However, apart from the Galaxy Watch Ultra (which matches Amazon's price), the discounts on other models are quite modest - a saving of £50.
